Thing 17

Okay, I am on thing 17 and it may be getting too much for me but this is too much. Bookmarking, I like to do on either Firefox or Internet Explorer.   I also keep a word document containing sites I find that I may need later.  I could see why this would come in handy but the same thing can be done in both Firefox and Internet Explorer. In both you can organize your bookmarks in folders. Which I do I have folders for anything from bills to misc. The only reason I would use a site like Delicious is for a backup.

The potential I could see for the classroom is to have all them accessible for your students. But, I think if I gave my students a website it would not be from a site like Delicious. I would put it on my classroom website where I have all the control.

Thing 16

I have used iGoogle for years. I am just so mad that it is going away. I just love it. I like all the gadgets you can add. My favorite gadget is the birthday reminders. Here is my iGoogle page.

Here is a link to my calendar I created on 30 boxes.

I use sticky notes on my laptop. This is the one I have up now. It is very useful as every time I open up my laptop I can quickly look up there to see what I need to do. I can also add or change them as needed.  I find these are my favorite as I do not need to go to a website or anywhere else, all I have to do is look on my laptop and presto I know what I need to do.

All of these tools could be very useful to a teacher but, I think every teacher needs to find out what works the best for them. These 23-things are a great way to find things. Some of them I will try to use and some I am probable never going to remember or use.

Thing 15

I made a new page and titled it Thing 8 from Michelle Terry. I copied my entry from thing 8 and pasted it into the page. It was an easy process. This is a great way for anyone to collaborate on projects or anything else. If a group of teacher decided to do a class project that included all the subjects in that grade level they could use a wiki page to work together or for the students to put information in for the project.  I found this website to be very helpful.
