I explored several sites/tools from the list but the one I
came back to time after time was twiducate. Twiducate is a social network for
schools. This would be a good site for setting up a private network for
students. It uses a class code for your students to enter and as a teacher I
have full control over the network. This would be a good place for encouraging students
to interact with each other. As a teacher I could post websites that I would
like to use in class but do not have the time in class to show the students.
The students then could explore the websites at their leisure and get more
information than what I presented in class. It may help struggling students by giving
them a way of asking the other students or teacher in a different way than in
class for help.
